GOALS WILL IMPROVE

The Argentine striker Fernando Cavenaghi has said that he feels that the goals and form of the club will certainly improve over the coming weeks. Villarreal have made a decent start to the life in the second division after they are currently in the top six of the table. However, this is slightly lower than the initial expectations when Villarreal were thought to challenge for an automatic promotion spot especially due to the presence of players like the 29-year-old Fernando Cavenaghi up front. The Argentine striker, who was signed from River Plate during the summer, has scored three goals in 11 appearances for the club.

He has requested the fans to be patient because the team still needs to adjust to life in the second division after being relegated from the top division last season. Villarreal were one of the surprise teams to be relegated from the first division last time around. It is extremely shocking because they were in the group stages of the Champions League only last season. The striker Fernando Cavenaghi has said that the club has shown in patches that they are capable of playing in a much better way. However, they need some time together in order to play at that level on a regular basis.

“I think the second half was very different from the first. Improve and, therefore, we think that this is the way forward. We’ve shown we can be higher, but we play at our best level. It generates occasions and team work to reach goals and I’m sure they will. I play with two strikers is something we have already done and done well, as has also gone well with a single striker. People should know that through the hard times come season and good times,” said Fernando Cavenaghi.
